Maria Tulley is a highly respected PGA Professional, accomplished player, and dedicated coach known for her passion, technical expertise, and inspiring journey through the world of women’s golf.

 

Born in Cornwall, England on 23 July 1986, Maria discovered golf at the age of 11 and quickly established herself as one of the region’s standout young talents. She won multiple county junior titles at both Under-15 and Under-18 level and went on to earn selection for the England Under-16 Elite Squad, marking her as one of the most promising golfers of her generation.

 

Maria turned professional in 2005, beginning the PGA’s three-year Foundation Degree programme while continuing to compete across the UK and Europe. She qualified as a full PGA Professional in 2008, combining her natural coaching ability with a continued ambition to progress as a tournament player.

 

Over the years, Maria has competed on the LET Access Series, the official feeder tour to the Ladies European Tour, and has produced a string of strong results in regional and national PGA events. Highlights include a 2nd-place finish in the 2012 Glenmuir WPGA Professional Championship, multiple wins and podiums on UK regional tours, and finishing runner-up in the 2019 Women On The Tee Pro-Am.

 

Her standout achievement came in 2019, when she was selected to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the inaugural Women’s PGA Cup in Austin, Texas – a prestigious honour recognising the top female PGA professionals from each nation.

 

Alongside her playing commitments, Maria has built a thriving coaching career, offering lessons, mentoring, and structured development programmes for golfers of all ages. She has coached at several respected clubs and now brings her wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and modern coaching techniques to her current base. Her sessions blend technical precision with a supportive, confidence-building approach, helping players unlock their potential both on and off the course.

 

Maria continues to compete in professional events, with the long-term goal of returning to LET or LPGA Qualifying School and ultimately securing a place in major championships such as the AIG Women’s Open. Her journey as a golfer is defined by determination, resilience, and a deep love for the game.

 

Away from golf, Maria enjoys time at the gym, keeping active, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a passionate supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club.
